In 1886, Konstantinos Manolikakis began importing select coffee varieties from Brazil, creating unique blends and establishing the first House of Coffee in Greece.
In 1908, King George of Greece, issued a decree allowing the import of the first steam-powered coffee grinding machine to Crete.
Manolikakis coffee soon became a favorite of Venizelos, Kazantzakis, and Karyotakis.
